Jesus Christ, as the head of the Church (Eph 5:23), its cornerstone (Eph 2:20), and its righteousness, sanctification, and redemption (1 Cor 1:30), is the focus and mission of Oak Grove Baptist Church. As such, we raise up and feast on His Word (Col 3:16), knowing that it is by His Spirit (Jn 14:26, 16:13) and through His Word that we are made holy (Jn 17:17, Eph 5:26-27) and are thereby formed increasingly into His image (Rom 8:29).
Jesus is, in a sense, made incarnate in His Word and in His followers. This does not make the Bible or believers equal with God, but it does provide for us an avenue for drawing closer to Him. Jesus, as the Word, was made flesh (Jn 1). This side of His ascension, He is again "made flesh" through His Word and in His followers. The Spirit of Christ lives in the Bible (Heb 4:12) and in true believers (Rom 8:10). Therefore, it is the passion of Oak Grove Baptist Church to grow in Christlikeness by feasting on Him through His Word (Jn 6:51) and by loving Him in His children (1 Jn 3:23)
We would love for you to come join us in our feast and in our love for one another!
